About Us

Society Towards Operation Pollution is operational since 1996 to enable the social economically marginalized to become self reliant and to promote skill development in the country. Since its inception Society towards Operation Pollution has always focused on empowerment of the community in every possible sense.

 

STOP  working in the field of Education, Literacy, Environment and Empowerment of women and other marginalized section of the society by promotion and providing education , health and family welfare and other community developmental services in all over India.

 

STOP  has been actively working with the socio-economic marginalized and technically educational backward population in the various part of India at presently in Delhi, Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana for economic empowerment and rehabilitation.

 

Society Towards Operation Pollution (STOP) main objectives are to enhance the learning ability as a life long process by stimulating interest of children , develop better understanding about Education Health, Environment and Community development, and to promote Social justice and equality by creating awareness about education , gender and other biases. It is core belief of the organization that individual growth and self reliant and self development are essential components to create responsible and accountable citizens.

 

Organization aimed at increasing the participation of disadvantaged communities in mainstream development processes. Our goal is to empower these groups by promoting and providing education and health services; vocational training; introducing micro-credit schemes; and promoting environmentally sustainable income generating activities so that they can lead a dignified and productive life.

 

STOP from past last years, developed sound sustainable programmes to cater/meet the developmental needs of its targeted community. It is actively enrolled in vocational, educational and skills development training providing programmes in Delhi, Uttrakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

 

STOP supports vocational training to support the cause of ‘Education to Employment’. It trains the youth in various sectors including Information Technology (IT), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Retail, Agriculture Sector, personal grooming services and tailoring.

 

Society Towards Operation Pollution (STOP) thrust is to build the organizational and leadership capacities of its stakeholders. It takes holistic and integrated approach to development that favors the sustainability of its programs by providing people access to tools, training and structures they need.

 

STOP believe in providing opportunities and building capacities of young people to become a economically empowered and an active citizen of the country.

Society Towards Operation Pollution (STOP) is one of the leading national based NGO committed for sustainable Community Development Programmes through participatory research and development, capacity building and issue based interventions of various stages having its strong base in rural and tribal areas with special emphasis on

Vocational Education and Skill Up-Gradation Programme
 

Imparting Vocational Training and Skill Development based on market survey and as per industry needs, local demands and suitability of marginalized people is the most important activities of STOP. As on date, STOP offers vocational training in variety of courses. The trades are broadly classified into three categories namely Traditional, Mechanical, and New-Economy Trades related to service sector. Some of the important and poplar trades include courses related to Dress Making & Designing. Beauty Culture and hospitality, Plumbing, Carpentry, and Electrical & Electronic etc. Every year new trades are being added as per Industry and Market Demands.

 

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (SCPWD- The Skill Council for Persons with Disability)

In 2018-19, we got an opportunity to work with SCPWD, It’s the same Programme, PMKVY, and it’s a new platform for us to enhance our work experience in the field of Disability.
We got the target for Two Centers (360+180).

​

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana

​

STOP has worked as a Training Partner in Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (2017-18) a flagship programme of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in which STOP imparted the training in basically three job roles named Self Employed Tailor, Hair Stylist and Retail Sales Associate. In PMKVY STOP received a target of training 440 candidates which were trained successfully and certified. Out of the total number of candidates STOP has made a remarkable record after placing more than 70% candidates mainly in organized sector and has also created many Entrepreneurs for the society.

The companies in which our candidates are working are BATA, Haldirams, Vedic, Reliance, Café Coffee Day, Barista, Burger King,KFC, Wow Momos and many more.

CSR initiative of Times of India, Teach India

​

Stop offered Teach India programme, a Times of India initiative to the youths of marginalized population in the slums of Mangol Puri and Tihar Village in Delhi.  The Programme focused on employ ability of unemployed youth through providing personality development and spoken English skills which are very much required in today’s world.

CSR initiative of RPG CEAT Swayam

​

STOP trains the underprivileged females in driving field in order to give female drivers to the society so as to break the stereotypes thinking of the society and to give the equal status to the women in accordance to the men and to create less crime state as if there will be female drivers the chances of rapes with the females will be lower down which we can see in the capital of the country.

 

Integrated Village Development Programme

Agriculture, Livestock and Horticulture Development:

​

Stop has organized Integrated Agriculture Development projects in 25 villages for 680 families in the villages of Uttrakhand in the district pauri garhwal. The poor farmers have been educated and trained about sustainable environment friendly, agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry. The farmer resulted in bumper production of their crops after attending the training.  

 

Human Resource Development:

​

STOP has made women of 10 villages in the age group of 15-35 years 100% literate through 10 centers of Adult Education Programme. It has trained 500 women in skill creation of garment production, paultry, goatry, knitting and embroidery. Most of them have started self-generation employment and income Generation Projects- (IGP) and many have successfully removed their poverty to a great extent.

 

Health and Sanitation

STOP always worked in the health and hygiene of the people of the rural India by providing them the councelling sessions about their health. Females from time to time are provided with the importance of their productive health. People are also made aware not to make any kind of the drainage in the rivers so as to be remained protected from environmental issues and health difficulties.

 

Adoption of Harshi Nath Vidya Niketan School in Himachal Pradesh

​

STOP adopted a primary school in the district of Sirmour in Himachal Pradesh where it used to provide all the basic requirements of the children of the schools. Children were provided with free uniforms, books, stationery and even with desks as they used to sit on carpets earlier. The focus has been made on their interest in the studies by providing them with all the facilities in a great manner.

There were a total of 100 students in the school.

The fund raising for these has been made by individual donors and small corporate houses.
